Brain Integration

Brain Integration is a specialised form of Functional Kinesiology that addresses specific issues of the brain and brain function. Some conditions associated with loss of brain integration are:
- A wide variety of learning challenges related to reading, writing and spelling
- Dyslexia
- Sensory Integration problems
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Central Auditory Processing Problem (CAPP) or Disorder (CAPD)
- Neurological Function Disorder (NFD)
- Vision and visual perception problems
- Cognition and memory problems
- Closed Head Injuries (e.g. resulting from concussion, etc.)
- Stroke and brain injury
- Coordination and balance (such as vertigo)
The specialist Learning Enhancement Acupressure Program (LEAP) was developed by Dr Charles Krebs. He describes brain integration as “The ability to access all the gestalt and logic lead functions and the sub-conscious processing centres, in order to perform a task optimally. The degree of brain integration may vary depending on the general level of stress in your life and the stress (from the past or now) linked to the task that you are performing."
Brain integration requires three things: 1) access to specific brain functions; 2) ability to integrate these brain functions; 3) maintaining integration of these functions under varying degrees of stress. When someone is undertaking the Brain Integration process, I encourage continuation on with other therapies such as speech as it will expedite any gains made in the areas being worked on.

How Brain Intergration applies beyond learning
LEAP originally focused only on learning difficulties, but over time it became apparent that brain integration in fundamental in life, not just academic learning. In a sense, life is about learning, and how well you are able to learn and integrate your life's experiences determines to a large extent who you are and who you will become in life. If you struggle to process information, make decisions (particularly for yourself), focus, remember and generally function with a sharp and clear mind then Brain Integration would be incredibly beneficial for you.

Testimonials

I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of issues that Brain Integration has assisted with. They have included dyslexia, auditory processing, Neurological Function Disorder, working memory issues, hypoxia (brain damage from both injury and stroke), vertigo and tinnitus.

I was diagnosed with Benign Positional Vertigo (BPV) and was told that there was little that could be done about it and “it should eventually go away”. I saw Liz and asked if she was able to help. After one session with Liz my symptoms had almost disappeared within 24 hours. Needless to say I was thrilled, no more dizziness or nausea and I could continue on with my busy life. PS
Our young son has been going for Kinesiology sessions with Liz for several months now. He was struggling with school and as a consequence his behaviour at school and at home was becoming very disruptive. Since going for sessions, he has become calmer and more focused and confident, he now even enjoys going to school! He loves his regular sessions and what I love most about the process is rather than trying to change our wonderful boy, she is just helping him remember who he truly is. DB
